HOW TO DECORATE A BOOKSHELF

This is my favorite piece in my home! I wanted a mid-century bookshelf that was tall, slim, sturdy and a statement piece. I live in a townhouse and so I needed something that wasn’t bulky and this bookshelf checked all the boxes! I love greenery because it makes your space come to life, so with this bookshelf I went with 1. stackable books that would provide height and texture, then 2. with clear glass decorative vase for transparency. Next, this is a modern contemporary  lamp with gold trim that is an alternative option. 4. And for the center of the shelf I wanted to add a faux plant to soften the background,  then I added 5. contemporary art piece and this one was perfect.

Next, here’s a 6. similar style ceramic lamp and a alternative lamp which I LOVE – the modern ivory lamp. 7. Bubble glass was the perfect color and height. 8. On the bottom of the shelf I wanted some faux antique books but nothing to fancy with a candle. 9. I used a hanging wall rattan basket for color, texture and simplicity. 10. The finishing touch for the cubby holes was this natural boxwood plant. Lastly, I toggled two inexpensive paintings I found at Old Time Pottery. The tall abstract one was $12.00 and the smaller one was $7.99.
